Harley-Davidson® Customization
If there’s one thing Harley-Davidson® is known for, it’s the customization options available to its riders. No matter how your motorcycle arrives from the factory or what you want it to look like, there’s probably an upgrade just waiting for you. In fact, you don’t have to stop at styling upgrades. There are even features that improve performance and ergonomic designs.
While many people like to choose parts individually, because there’s so much to choose from, Harley-Davidson® likes to group certain parts into packages. This way, you can narrow down your search relatively quickly and you can be sure the parts will look nice together. Here at Illinois Harley-Davidson®, we’ve highlighted some of the packages for the touring bikes so you can decide if your motorcycle needs one of these upgrades. If these packages aren’t quite what you’re looking for, then come talk to our experienced staff at our location in Countryside, Illinois, near Chicago.
Perfect for Touring
These packages have been made specifically for touring models. So what makes them ideal for these bikes in particular? They’re designed to maximize power and comfort, two things that are essential for a great long-distance ride. Plus, you may have noticed that in all that comfort and performance, sometimes the style of a touring bike could use a little tweaking, so these packages also come with style upgrades that will make your ride completely your own. So let’s get down to specifics.
Reaper Customization Package
We’ll start with the all-rounder: the Reaper package. It features blacked out parts for the sleekest, most modern aesthetic. This includes the anodized hand grips and the footboards and front assembly. Throw in a detachable sissy bar and Stealth luggage rack and you’ll have the ultimate look for your ultimate ride.
But the Reaper package doesn’t stop at the looks department. You’ll also get the Screamin’ Eagle® Heavy Breather Performance Air Cleaner Kit and the Street Cannon Performance Exhaust for more power and better fuel efficiency. And while the Electra Glo LED lights on the saddlebags, turn signals, and license plate holder will certainly look nice, they’re also there to make sure other commuters can more easily see you.
Vengeance Essentials Package
If you want to accentuate comfort, then you’ll want to turn to the Vengeance Essentials package. You’ll get the detachable sissy bar and backrest to give you all-day riding comfort. You’ll also get the CoolFlow fan system for those particularly hot summer days. Throw in the mid-frame air deflectors to keep hot engine air off your legs, and you’ll be able to ride all summer long.
For some added bonuses, you’ll also get the BOOM!™ Audio radio system, equipped with AM/FM/WB hidden antenna and a top-of-the-line speaker system to give you the best quality sound, no matter how fast you’re traveling. You’ll also get some styling upgrades, including the Harley-Davidson® Motor Co. Derby Cover and Electra Glo LED saddlebag lights.
Vengeance Performance Package
The Vengeance Performance package takes some of the upgrades you’ll find in the Essentials package and throws in some added performance features. From the Screamin’ Eagle® Pro Street Tuner to the Heavy Breather Performance Air Filter to the Street Cannon Performance Mufflers, you’ll turn your engine into a beast. And with that extra power and efficiency, you’ll need to add extra torque with the Milwaukee-Eight® Stage II Torque Kit.
If you like the comfort you get with the other packages, then you’ll be happy to know you still get the detachable sissy bar and adjustable backrest, plus the mid-frame air deflectors. Throw in the CoolFlow fan system and select accessories from the Defiance Collections for added style, and you’ll have a bike you’ll never want to stop riding.
Hopefully, this helps you get started as you search for the perfect upgrades for your bike. Whether you choose a package or decide you want to pick out some parts individually, when it’s time to upgrade, make sure you do it with Illinois Harley-Davidson® in Countryside, Illinois, just outside of Chicago.
